  • Have qualified instructors, who will encourage and support all participants whilst ensuring correct technique and safety within the group
  • Charge $5 per session
  • Have an atmosphere that is fun, friendly, enjoyable and welcoming.

Facts

  • Without intervention, muscle strength declines with age
  • Falls are the leading cause of hospitalisation vor people over 65yrs in Australia. Age-related muscle decline and the related consequences are a common cause of falls.
  • Women from age of 35yrs lose up to 1% of their bone mass per year, this loss rapidly accelerating after menopause
  • Approximately 40% of Victorian's over 50yrs have Diabetes or Impaired Glucose Tolerance, which increases the risk of Diabetes.

Strength training will help you:

  • Improve strength, balance, gait, flexibility and co-ordination, which in turn improves the ability to lift, walk, bend, climb stairs and enjoy life
  • preserve bone density
  • creat an effective management strategy for Type 2 Diabetes, in combination with a healthy diet.
